GotoStaples

GotoStaples

GotoStaples by thediybeautyb featuring a bronzing powder

My go to staples!  Don't get me wrong, I love makeup and I love dabbling in all sorts of products.  However when I am looking for a easy go to look with as little products as possible, I grab these trusty items.
#1 time and time again I have promoted Koh Gen Doh's yellow primer.  I use this for concealer, primer, highlighter and even dab it in the center of my lip to accentuate and make my lips appear fuller.  For a natural easy look, it is my concealer.  It covers and moisturizes all in one.  I would rate this as a light coverage.
#2 Jane Iredal daytime pallet.  This baby has been my go to eyeshadow pallet for years.....really years!!  It helps you to acheive the perfect neutral eye.  It is amazing, I dare you to try it.
#3 Gerard Cosmetics 1995 lipstick.  This baby is amazing.  Something about their formulation makes your lips stay hydrated while packed with color.  This color is perfect for anytime of year and makes me want to keep applying it......I am almost out of it!  Huge bonus, their lipsticks and lipglosses are on sale right now!  Skip on over and pick some up, you will thank me later.
#4 Benefit "Hoola" Bronzer.  The perfect bronzer/contour/eyeshadow/everything.....enough said.  I am on my 4th box of this stuff.  It lasts forever (if you are using the right brush with it) and is pretty inexpensive considering how amazing it really is.  As a side note, make sure not to use a corse brush while applying your bronzer.  If the brissles are ruff, it will make your powder or bronzer flake of more than you need and ultimately waist product. xoxo

Highlight

Highlight
I have a love hate relationship with highlighter. I love to try all of them so I hate how many I have. Let's be honest, one is never enough just like the perfect color of foundation.
While I like all of these brands, I have a few favorites. The balm "Mary Louminizer," "watts up" from benefit and Bobbi Brown's shimmer brick are always on the top of the charts. Applying any highlighter to the inner corners of your eyes, cupid's bow of you lip, top of you cheek bones (not highlighting past the center of your eye) and on your nose(I am not a nose highlighting person) can add such a healthy glow! The key is to look like you are glowing from within, not like you are a disco ball......so do not get too heavy handed.
While I love powder or cream highlighters, I think I might start venturing into foundation illuminates. Any suggestions? I am all about the wintertime glow. 😉
